Eclipse Film Technologies Plant Tour

Dear fellow MVSPE members,
This has been a very difficult year for everyone as the economy takes its toll and the plastics industry continues to change. The inventory of misery has presented many of us significant challenges. However,there are good things occurring and the Miami Valley SPE organization continues to thrive and make adjustments with the future in mind. We have a renewed focus on technology, networking and education that will bring value to each and every member.

*We have a new board in place with strong leadership. We are looking to expand our Board, and welcome any member to volunteer. If you have any interest please contact me or any Board member.
We plan on adding a graduate student to the board in the near future.

*The MVSPE roster has been updated and a new campaign for growing our membership is being developed.

*We have cleaned up our finances and now have a good operating budget.

*We are exploring new tools for meetings including electronic meetings. In addition we are in the process of updating and building a new MVSPE web site.

*We are encouraging the National Organization to continue the process of new communication and networking tools for additional value to members. We will also be working with the National SPE organization for the next ANTEC.

*We have conducted a MVSPE Board planning session in September 2009 and details of the plan will be shared with you in the near future,once we get all the commitments firmed up for plant visits.
In the near future survey's will be conducted to gain insight and direction from all members.

*Over the past 18 months the MVSPE has had on campus meetings at the University of Cincinnati and have great plans for the future with the vibrant and growing University of Cincinnati Student Chapter.

* Last month the MVSPE board visited the campus of Swannee State University in celebration of this student Chapter's 25 years as a member of SPE.

*Our outreach efforts will continue with Miami University,University of Dayton, NKU and the University of Kentucky.

This Thursday, November 5th, we are having a plant tour of Eclipse Film Technologies. The plant visit will be at 6:30 PM.
